Gaskets

Gaskets A gasket is put in place between two parts in order to prevent leaks. This forms a mechanical seal for the parts. When one manufacturer designs a part and another manufacturer designs their part, these two parts will not be a perfect fit. In order to compensate for that, you simply need to put a gasket between the two. This will fill in any irregularities and stop any leaks.

There are many different materials from which gaskets are made. Examples of some of these are silicone, rubber, cork, paper, felt, neoprene, or a plastic polymer.

There are some gaskets that require the use of a sealant directly applied to the surface of the gasket to work properly. When replacing any gasket, check the documentation provided with the gasket for any such instructions.

While installing your parts, some gaskets require that you use the correct torque. This also should be noted on the manufacturer's specifications. In addition to the torque specifications, sometimes they have a torque sequence that needs to be followed. By doing this in the correct order and using the correct torque, it will help to get out any wrinkles and prevent leaks, water, oil, etc…

We have you covered when you need new gaskets. Let us at Clickonautoparts.com be your one stop shop for all your entire online auto parts needs. We have warehouses spread across the nation where your parts are in stock and we can get them to you quickly.
