Engine Mounts

This is also sometimes called motor mounts. While your engine is running, it will have a slight vibration. If the engine were attached directly to the frame of the vehicle you would end up being able to feel these vibrations.

These engine mounts as well as transmission mounts are designed to bolt between the chassis and the engine or the chassis and transmission. This will allow for a dampening of those vibrations as well as to protect your engine from taking on too much during bumps and road irregularities.

They are made from a rubber fiber in between two pieces of metal. There must be flexibility to this rubber fiber due to the torque of the engine. It needs to be able to move some or the vibration would travel through your vehicle. If you feel a vibration in the seat of your vehicle, most likely one of these mounts is broken. This is something that you would be able to feel while in idol or while driving.
