is sometimes called a Heater Blower Motor or Air Conditioning Blower Motor, however it’s all the same motor. It’s designed
to blow air across the evaporator or heater core, which will blow either cold or hot air depending the temperature setting
you have on the dash.
Blower Motors also have relays and resistors that will control the speed of the blower motor. When you choose a faster fan speed the resistance will decrease allowing the fan to spin faster which in turn moves more air into the cabin of your vehicle.
These motors will eventually wear out especially if you haven’t been changing your cabin air filter. If you choose a higher fan speed from the controls on your dash but you don’t get much air blowing in from your vents, this could be a sign that you need to check or replace the blower motor.
