Battery Cables

Battery Cable There are at least two of these cables on your vehicle. They supply the electricity to the starter and other electrical components of the vehicle. It’s important that you have the right size cables on your vehicle depending on the amperage your vehicle requires. This is dependent on what accessories you run in and on your vehicle. One of the battery cables usually will run from the alternator to the battery and from the battery to the starter, and then a negative battery cable to the chassis of your vehicle.

The battery cables and terminals can become corroded and will need to be cleaned or replaced. This happens more often if you don’t drive your vehicle regularly. These terminals will actually oxidize quicker when the battery is just sitting and not being used.

In regards to the corrosion, you will be able to see a white ashy buildup around one or even both of the battery terminals (or posts). In some cases this corrosion is bad enough that you should replace the battery cables and clean the terminals of the battery.

If you find that these need to be replaced, let us here at Clickonautoparts.com work to get the cables you order on a truck headed to your door step sometimes even the same day as you order it. We have many warehouses spread over many states and will drop ship the part to you from a warehouse close to you.
