Axles

Axle An axle is basically a shaft for your wheel to rotate on. This is also an integral structural component. The axle keeps the wheels in line and exactly in the position they need to be in. The axle will also have to handle the weight of the vehicle as well as all the passengers and cargo.

Axles can be found in front and rear wheel drive vehicles. It’s what goes from the center of the differential to the center of the wheel and tire. The axle is designed to distribute the power from the rear differential to the wheel. It contains bearings, fluid, and gears.

The front axle on most vehicles is called a steering axle. When you turn the steering wheel the front wheels will turn and the steering axle is designed to handle all of this.

Sometimes you might hear a humming noise coming from the differential, if this is the case you need to have the bearings checked and if ignored, it could damage the axle as well as the bearings.

When any of these unusual noises start to happen, you need to check into what the cause is. If it’s a bearing or broken axle, or whatever, Clickonautoparts.com has the right part for your vehicle. We can drop ship these bearings or a new axle directly to your doorstep. With our warehouses spread across the nation we can get the part to you quickly.
