is one of the components that make up your air conditioning system. The complete AC system allows you to have cool air in
your vehicle to make it comfortable while you are in the cabin as the driver or passenger.
This is the workhorse of the air conditioning system. It starts out with the clutch, coil, and hub bolted to the front of the compressor. In order for the compressor to work, it will electronically energize the coil which will pull the plate to the hub which therefore turns the compressor. This is turned by one of the belts on your engine turned by the crankshaft.
It creates a vacuum which pulls the refrigerant (Freon) through the receiver dryer (accumulator drier), expansion valve, evaporator core, compressor, and condenser, and then back through the system again in a closed circuit position.
There are pressure sensors that control and monitor the system to keep it from building too much pressure and blowing the condenser or evaporator.
